Overflowing dusty blue blooms, an array of pastels and the most whimsical details, make up for this garden wedding in Westminster, Maryland!
Maria, 36, Human Resources, Vergennes, VT
John, 39, Truck Driver, Walkersville, MD
We met on eHarmony in August 2015. After just a few messages back and forth, we decided to meet in person. Our first date was dinner at Chili’s restaurant in Sykesville, Maryland on a Sunday evening in August.
There was an instant attraction between us but more importantly, an instant connection. I was intrigued by John pretty quickly, and was sure she wanted to continue pursuing him after the first date – it helped that he was extremely good looking! John was intrigued by my confidence, and also happy to see that I didn’t catfish him (lol) and actually looked like the photos I posted on eHarmony!
Close to a year after their first date, they exchanged their first “I love you’s”. John shared the sentiment before I did, but I caught up shortly after, around nine months in.
We took a trip to California for vacation to see San Francisco and Napa Valley. I found out later that John had my engagement ring in his possession for nine months before he proposed to me! He was waiting for the perfect time and place which happened to be during our stay in Napa Valley, California in May 2018. We went for a walk through the vineyard and found a small gazebo at the top of the hill. After taking a few photos, John told me before we left he wanted to ask me something. He shared with me a few sentiments, got down on a knee, and held out the ring. Of couse I said Yes! and he slid the ring on my finger.
Simple & whimsical with a touch of rustic.
Dusty blue, gray and pops of rose gold.
For our centerpieces, we made our own wine, bottled it and added custom wine labels we designed with table numbers on them.
My favorite part was planning the centerpieces & decor – I loved all my colors but especially the dusty blue! I felt like the style I picked reflected me to the T! I’m not often creative but I have to say it was super fun and exciting figuring out what “me” decor looked and felt like! Planning our wedding was probably the most creative thing I’ve done in my life.
John and I both agree that our favorite part of the day was our Wedding Ceremony, celebrated through a Catholic Mass. More specifically, when we were announced husband and wife, and kissed for the first time as a married couple surrounded by all our family and friends. Additionally, having all of our family and friends in one place, all together was one of the most amazing feelings in the world, and we both felt that deeply.
