Hi! I’m a 22 year old wedding/travel/ lifestyle photographer from South Carolina. I’m a travel junkie always looking for the next adventure & may or may not be addicted to sunshine 😉
Ah my best friend is an INFJ! Well the INFP is considered “the idealist” which pretty much sums it up haha. I’m extremely optimistic & have a lot of big dreams. I’m super open-minded to things & as a kid I used to get in trouble for daydreaming too much, which totally makes sense as to why I became a photographer. There’s something special in capturing a moment while also creating a new one. It’s like I get to stop time & escape reality every time I take a photo.
Thank you so much! Growing up my grandma was SUPER into taking photos of me & my family so I was always used to having a camera nearby. As soon as she let me be behind the lens I immediately saw why she always had it with her. It was the coolest feeling to me. Once I got to high school I started taking photos of friends with my mom’s camera & loved how good the photos made them feel about themselves. I’ve always been an art girl so I fell in love with the art pretty quick.
I went to College of Charleston & majored in Studio art with a concentration in photography. I had no idea what I wanted to be- but I knew I didn’t want to be tied down to a 9-5 or have a boss haha. But, I knew being a freelance artist was tough so I worked super hard during those 4 years to build my business. I built a website, worked with other photographers, shot for free, got a super solid portfolio together & before I knew it I had clients wanting to hire me before I even graduated. By the time I walked across the stage, I was almost fully booked for my first year! I’m still blown away by the support & love.
Honestly social media has helped a ton! I’m really not sure where I would be without Instagram or Pinterest. Not only have I built a community on there but that’s where I found a lot of my inspiration and favorite photographers. My education has also helped a ton! I had some pretty incredible professors who pushed me & my art to places I never would have imagined.
That it’s so much more than clicking a button haha. Not only do you have to understand the camera & all of the settings but you have to understand angles, lighting, developing or editing. If you’re working with models or people you need to know how to interact with them in order to get exactly what you’re looking for. Every photographer, and artist, starts out with a vision or idea & there’s always so much more to the process than what it seems.
Oh so many places! I really love Big Sur for the views, Kenya for it’s people, & Aruba for it’s natural beauties. BUT I think Hawaii has to be my favorite so far. The lifestyle, culture, & people are all so great. Everyone’s so content & is just happy to be alive which is so hard to find.
Right in the middle of LA! Haha I didn’t originally plan to move to LA but I had a housing opportunity come up & decided to take it. It’s a fun city & I think my business will do really well out there. I’m also started to branch out into more fashion & lifestyle shoots which is also perfect for LA. I’ll be living with a good friend from high school, but aside from her it’s a pretty independent move. I’m so excited for it though!
Oh man so many things! For some reason I’ve been dying to shoot a styled elopement at the Salt Flats in Utah. But I’m also itching to take some expired film to Europe.
Wake up super early (I’m not a morning person but if it’s a perfect day it has to be a long one), catch a flight to somewhere I’ve never been but wanted to explore (preferably tropical) & run around, swim, photograph, eat really good food & then maybe end the day with a music festival or concert on the beach. I have a thing for wanting to feel fully alive all the time- so new places and live music sounds beyond perfect 🙂
