How you two met:

Troy and Nikki met in 2010 at a mutual friends apartment. In March of 2011 Troy and Nikki began “talking”. They chased each other for several months! Nikki could not get over Troy’s smile and his unique walk. Troy thought Nikki was beautiful and loved her personality.

The first time Troy and Nikki hung out by themselves, they spent the entire evening trying to fix Nikki’s tire. When Nikki was driving over to Troy’s house she had to use her GPS. When she turned onto Wallen Road she managed to hit a curb and pop a tire (the first of many!). Nikki walked into Troy’s house and the first thing out of her mouth was “I think I popped my tire.”  Nikki did not have the right equipment to change a tire on “Patches” aka multi-colored, Dodge Neon.

Troy had to call a tow truck company and Nikki could not believe that Troy wanted to see her again after that night. She was so embarrassed and Troy was so in love!

We got pregnant with our daughter in 2012. We became a family of 3 on January 10, 2013.

Anything unique happen or with decor?:

My dad is a pastor, he walked me down the isle, and then officiated the ceremony.

Our 6 year old, daughter, Ella, was are flower girl.

If you had to pick a favorite moment of the day what would it be?:

It rained the entire day of our wedding and was so cold out! Our ceremony was suppose to take place outside. It all ended up being in the barn. It was crowded but we made it work. But after the ceremony troy and I snuck away with our photographer and videographer and we took an umbrella and golf cart behind this pond that was on the property and took pictures under this massive willow tree. It was amazing. We laughed so hard because mosquitos were swarming us. It was just a fun moment to take it all in. We were finally Mr & Mrs. Laux.

Another favorite was when our daughter prayed for us during the ceremony. That was so special and something that her and my dad had planned all along for her to do.

What was the most fun part of the wedding to plan?:

Bachelorette Party- Girls went to Nashville, TN for a weekend. We did goat yoga, bar hopped, took pictures in front of some of the best murals

Bachelor Party- Guys went to Chicago for a weekend and went to a Cubs game. Troys favorite team.

One of my bestfriends, Tai Felger, was our coordinator the day of the wedding. She literally went above and beyond. Her sister and her cleaned the entire barn the day of and decorated everything. I could not have done it without her.
