How did you meet?:
“We met on my birthday weekend 5 years ago in a bar… which sounds so funny but I went up to him (his hood was inside out), I fixed his hoodie, he turned around and that was it.”
How did the proposal happen?:
“We are big hikers. We went to Hawaii this last January and I had done a ton of research on some pretty crazy hikes (by crazy I mean a little illegal and dangerous). We ended up doing the hike to the Stairway to Heaven. It was 8 hours and when we got to the top we were in the clouds. If we made it through that, we could make it through anything. He got down on his knee and proposed at the top!!”
What are looking forward to the most about your wedding?:
“Honestly, just having us become Husband and Wife. I am also really looking forward to his daughter becoming my step daughter!!”
Michelle reached out to me to do her wedding invitations, wanting a moody feel with absolutely no burgundy. For someone who has been working on burgundy invitations for the last two years, this request was a breath of fresh air. She found us on Etsy and like this design, but had deep mauve in their color palette. So we swapped out the color of the insert card and made it apply to her wedding colors.
She also opted for misty rose envelopes vs. the grey in the original design because she didn’t have any grey in her wedding color palette. The blush tones on the envelopes match the blush tones of some of the flowers and the “text box” on the main invitation card.
She kept the fonts consistent through the invitation, inserts and envelopes, but the real showstopper of this suite is the envelope liner. These flowers really pop against the dark, moody background color. Everything was sealed with a custom wax stamp of a flower.
