Flower girls are just about the cutest addition to a wedding party. They can easily steal the show with their facial expressions and attitude despite the best instruction. Making sure that your flower girl is well prepared for her duties on your big day will help to ensure that your wedding goes off without a hitch. Consider these 3 must have items for every flower girl:

#1: The Dress

There are many different styles of flower girl dresses available from super simple to extravagant. Make sure that your flower girl’s dress coordinates well with the overall style and feel of your wedding. Choosing a dress that is easy for your flower girl to walk in is important. Remember that a young girl will most likely be running around the reception no matter what dress you put her in. Consider the girl’s size and her likeliness to grow before the wedding day arrives. Ask the parents of the flower girl what size they would suggest based on her recent growing history.

You can’t have a flower girl without incorporating flowers somehow! Traditionally flower girls carry a basket of flower petals to sprinkle down the aisle but that doesn’t mean that it has to be done like that now. Consider having your flower girl hold her own small bouquet of flowers or wear them in her hair. Incorporating flowers into her duties are a must have item for any flower girl.

Make your flower girl feel extra special by giving her something that sets her apart from the rest of the kids at your wedding. If you don’t want her to throw flower petals consider having her hold a sign as she walks down the aisle. Another idea is to give her a special basket of roses to give to bridal parents. Giving your flower girl a special necklace, bracelet, or ring will also make her feel extra special on your big day.
