Dusty Blue Velvet Liners & Vellum Wrap

Velvet Envelope Liners

Happy Sunday! I am so excited to reveal this weeks suite. First things first: velvet liners. Seriously so gorgeous, I can’t get over it! Plus the custom monogram paired with the flower vellum wrap & wax seals?! Are you kidding me. Ashley’s soft, elegant and classy style is so apparent with a suite like this!

The Couple:

Ashley contacted us in January about her June 2019 wedding. This was the first clue into knowing I would love her. I am a planner. I liked planners. Anyways, she is getting married in Chicago, where her and Ross met. They met at DePaul University their freshman year of college and started dating shortly after. 6 years goes by, they buy a home and adopt two pups when the big surprise happens. Ross popped the question!

Ashley contacted us 4 days after getting engaged. She said she had been following along on Instagram for about 6 months and knew that she wanted us to design her stationery. She had decided to use shades of blue as her wedding colors; thinking the bridesmaids would be a in a light dusty blue shade and the boys in navy.

The Mood Board:

The Invitation:

Ashley described her style as ‘rustic, feminine and classy’. I threw out the idea of the velvet envelope liners, having no idea how she would react and SHE LOVED IT. She committed to them instantly. This was the first set of velvet envelope liners we had ever done so I was super excited and a little nervous. Sourcing the velvet ended up being easier than I anticipated, and sizing and adhering them to the envelopes was a challenge, but we were able to create these beauties and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.

Ashley knew she wanted a monogram for her and Ross, as well as wax seals. She was thinking on the envelopes and after chatting on the phone for a few (hours?) she decided the vellum wrap would really help take everything to the next level and make everything seem ‘softer’. I couldn’t agree more. I mean just look at these things!! They are so beautiful I could cry!!

I’ve mentioned it before, but I would so rather design a new suite from scratch vs. tweaking a few things on an already made design. So, if you have ideas you know you want for your wedding invitations that you haven’t seen before – REACH OUT!!! I may not know whether what you want is possible or not, but we will find out together!!

That’s all for this week! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
