What was your first impression of each other?:

Jamilyn: My first impression of JD was that he was just some cute country boy, but after our first date I knew he was gonna be someone important to me. I loved how he chased me and how down to earth he has. JD made being together so easy.

JD: She was beautiful, loved to have fun, and had a great sense of humor.

When did each of you know you were in love?:

Jamilyn: JD said “I love you” first after I spent the night with him in the woods for the first time. I knew that night that I loved him but was waiting for him to say it first.
JD: I knew when we decided to go to her parents. This was a big deal to her. For me I knew it was very serious at that point and after that trip was head over heels.

How did the proposal happen?:

JD proposed to me on the closing day of our first house together. He invited all our family over, who were inside watching out the window while the proposal happened. JD placed a dog tag on my dog that said, “Daddy wants to marry you.”

Our theme was rustic elegance. I incorporated rich colors with the deep beauty of Quail Branch Lodge. Having a December wedding, I really wanted our day to be cozy and unique and the freezing temperatures (26 degrees) really made that possible. I loved the general feel of the décor with the warm cabin feel combined with the Christmas decorations at the lodge, plus the warm fireplace really set the mood. I merged antlers with simple greenery and ivory flowers for our centerpieces.

If you had to pick a favorite moment of the day what would it be?:

Jamilyn – My favorite moment of the day was actually putting my dress on and seeing myself all dressed up. However I also loved being able to do a first look with both my dad and my husband to be.
JD – The first look/taking pictures. She looked gorgeous.

What was the most fun part of the wedding to plan?:

It was so fun and easy to plan with Melissa from Quail Branch Lodge. She made planning and organizing a breeze. JD gave me creative freedom and allowed me to pretty much let my vision come to light.
