These burgundy and blush invitations are so gorgeous! I can’t get over the vintage flowers Ashanti and Paul decided to go with! We were able to match her flowers and table linens pretty perfectly with the design elements (including the envelopes). I truly things these came out beautifully… and they were printed on felt paper!
Ashanti found us on Wedding Wire and reaching out to us about doing stationery for her Chicago wedding. After talking to her about her vintage style and color palette, I was hooked! I couldn’t wait to get started! I absolutely loved the idea of doing a design with more realistic flowers… nothing wrong with the watercolor components, but I like to switch it up sometimes!
Ashanti was very easy to work with, and has been on of my favorite clients to date! All of her revisions were thorough and fast, which make the designing process easy and quick. Which makes everyone happy all the way around.
To start, Ashanti sent me a few different design ideas of things she liked:
From here, I knew that she like the idea of the text being separated from the flowers. Rather than them being on the corners or on the top and bottom. She also mentioned how much she liked the look of the vintage flowers on the first photo. We played around with different shades of flowers and she sent me photos of her table linens to try to match them.
The finished product turned out amazing! From the burgundy and blush flowers, to the modern layout; they are stunning. I love that she kept them elegant with a classic script and serif typography pair; but, kept them modern with the “blocking” of the vintage floral elements. Once we finished the invitations, we focused on the envelopes. Rosa ended up being the perfect match for her and Paul! All in all, these wedding invitations are at the top of my personal favorites lists!
See you next Sunday! xo
