So what exactly are baby cards? There are a few different types of baby cards but simply put, its a way for you to share and include your family and friends in the arrival of your adorable new addition to your family! Bringing a child into the world is one of the happiest, most joyous feelings for a parent, so why not share that with your loved ones?! Theres no wrong way to do it but here are a few examples of how you can do this for your new child!
Congratulations, you’ve got a little bun in the oven! Now comes the daunting task of telling everyone in your life. Rather than having an individual conversation will each of your family and friends one-on-one, consider sending out an announcement! Taking time out of your busy schedule can be hard, not to mention how exhausting it can be to get to everyone in your life. Sending an announcement will take significantly less time and is typically done after your first trimester! Its important to give your partner and yourself time to enjoy and adjust first! Sending out an announcement also gives you a perfect excuse to use your maternity photos, or a reason to get them done, and doubles as a keepsake for your baby book!
A baby shower is a great way to celebrate the arrival of your new bundle of joy! But the baby shower is also to celebrate you becoming a mother! By skipping the celebration, you’re cheating yourself and your newborn, so in my eyes, its a must! These invitations are similar to any other invites in the sense you’ll need to get some basic information to your guests on what to expect. You can include the gender if you know, and of course a registry so everyone will know what you need. Designing the invitation to include the theme of your nursery super cute tip for guests to know what kind look you’re going for too! Showers are usually held around the 7 month time, and you’ll want to give people about 3-5 week lead time. This way they will have no excuse not to attend!
Birth announcements are fairly similar to the pregnancy announcement. However this time you’re letting your people know that you child has finally made their way into the world! These cards typically include any birth photos you are comfortable sharing, or any pictures from a newborn photoshoot. Most people wont be able to resist sending a little extra love your way once they receive this card int he mail! You’ll want to include the obvious bits of information, like full name, birthday, height and weight. The timeline for sending these announcements out is a little looser, because life as a new parent is hectic. Generally within the first 5-6 months is accepted!
