Jennifer and Nicholas’ wedding is a Texan couples dream! While they were on a tight budget, these two made sure to make the most of every penny! The reception embodied the casual summer picnic without losing the formality of the wedding. In addition to the sunflowers and and burlap are on trend with the rustic trend, they completed the theme with a delicious BBQ dinner! As a result of all their hard work, it was the most perfect day they both deserved!

First of all, Nick and I met at Wild Wife Café in Katy, TX. While he worked there as a kitchen manager and I was a front of the house/bar manager. He tried and tried to ask me out for at least a couple months. Finally, I let in and we started dating. He is such a sweet genuine man! So I gave him a run for his money but he worked hard, and now we have been together 9 whole years, and have a beautiful little family.
Laid back and relaxed!
Red Checked Gingham, burlap, and lots of sunflowers!

My wedding day was nothing but spectacular! Even though we were having an outside ceremony under a big, beautiful palapa, and had a high chance of thunderstorms, everything was perfect! We arrived at the bridal suite around 10, enjoyed a few hours to ourselves (us girls), then got started with hair and makeup. Brandi Palacios and her team were amazing. I saw them do things with hair that I didn’t think was even possible. My mom has very short hair, they put extensions in and made her look like a princess! My bridesmaid’s hair and makeup look amazing, plus my hair and makeup were on point! I couldn’t have asked for better ladies to work with.
My photographer Amber Thompson Martin was there earlier for all the fun and made sure she got every shot that she could. Not only was she our photographer, but she helped with moving a few things last minute due to rain chances, and made the necessary calls that needed to be made. Her personality is such a joy to be around and made my wedding day so much fun! She helped execute everything and her pictures are beyond excellent!
Our wedding coordinator Jenifer Cave with Journey of Love was also such an amazing woman to be around. She worked her butt of and made sure everything went smoothly and in a timely manner. She even helped break everything down at the end of the night, which was definitely a big relief. Her husband Chuck Cave was our officiant, and I can only say his professionalism really stood out, and he put on the most beautiful ceremony.
Now, let me get started on food. Because we were on a strict budget, I started looking early. Vickie and Michael with Roll’en Thunder BBQ came all the way our from Cleveland, TX to Houston for us to sample their food. Oh man, was it amazing! So we hired them on the spot! They also are such great people to be around and their hospitality and prices were spot on!
My florist Sarah Williams Elmore with Bell’s Bouquets made GORGOUES faux bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. While looking at these things you would never know they were fake. I sent her a few pics of what I envisioned and she made everything personalized to my liking.
Finally, my stationery. Unica Forma was perfect to work with and changed everything to my liking. They were so easy to talk to and work with as far as what I had envisioned for my invites and save the dates. Plus, their prices were super affordable!
