How you two met:
It was our first day of our Freshman year of college. I was sitting in dorm room with my roommate Dan. We both were trying to wrap our heads around being in school. I asked Dan if he wanted to go to the freshman dance and we decided to go. We went over to where the dance was being held at “The Titan Underground”. I got out on the dance floor and started my moves. Dan didn’t seem as much into it but was trying to not leave hanging by myself.
I remember being close to the DJ booth and catching a glimpse of a girl. I kept trying to look over my shoulder at her. I Rembert saying to Dan let’s go dance over by that girl. Well that girl I was talking about was Tara. Tara’s was there with her friend Libby. I kept dancing and then they began to talk to us. I remember feeling very nervous talking to such a beautiful girl. We all decided it was too loud to talk on the dance floor so we went back to mine and Dan’s room. Tara’s and I began to talk and I couldn’t believe how much we had in common. We both ran track, we both were in choir, we liked the same music and our high schools competed against each other. Tara and Libby left and I remember going to bed that night thinking that Tara seemed so perfect. I kept talking to Dan about her, and I even think I told Dan that I would like to date Tara.
Tara and I began to hang out more and more over the next couple weeks. We would go for walks down by the river, where we would talk about anything and everything. Our first official date was going out bowling. I remember other friends at school saying I just need to ask Tara out. I was even talking with her best friend Tina who was telling me to stop being so scared and ask her. I came close one night. I had bought some roses and had them down by the river on our walking path. Unfortunately it began to thunderstorm out and my plan was ruined. A friend grabbed the flowers for me and dropped them off while Tara and I were watching a movie. I went and grabbed them from him and planned on asking Tara out when I got back into the room. When I knocked on the door and Tara opened it all I got out was “here these are for you”. Tara lit up and I think was expecting me to ask something else but I didn’t.
Finally on the night of October 29, 2010 I decided I had waited enough. That night we were going to costume parties. I was dressed up like the joker, wearing face paint, red lip stick, a wig and a nurse dress. Some how while standing in the front of my dorm ingot the courage to ask Tara. I grabbed her hands and told her how much I liked her. With all my make up on and my outfit Tara still said yes to dating me. The rest is history.

What was your favorite part of the day?
Being able to see everything put together, and seeing my vision come to life. Also, being able to spend the day with family and friends from afar. It was such a joyous, memorable moment that Luke and I will never forget.
Is there anything that you would change looking back on it?
I wish that I wouldn’t have cried so much
What advice would you give to new brides?
Enjoy every moment. Remember that it only happens once. Also, don’t get suckered into Pinterest. I had a lot of Pinterest attempts and fails ;)
Anything else you want to share? We want to hear everything!
It was the best day of my life. I wouldn’t change it for the world. Next step, finishing college and having lots of babies!
